Am I going swimming any time soon? Good question. We're going to California in about a month to visit my parents, so I'd like to be prepared. There's also talk of a Christmas Hawaii trip, so let's just say I'm getting excited...!
First. Body type. Linear. Click on that link, because the information is awesome. I did all the measurements, and I was borderline other types, but pretty much linear. No sign of curves anywhere. Basically I have to wear frilly feminine clothes or I'll look like a boy. I break that rule a lot.
So, I'm wondering what the best suit would be for that. I've read a little about it, but if anyone has some genius advice, let me know.
So far what I'm liking is the idea of a really cute tankini.
I like this one from Shade clothing. The model looks best in the black because of the angle. I hate when I like one angle better than the other. I love the back.

This one is from Modbe. I think it looks really cute on the model, it would follow all my Linear rules, but it seems kind of loose. And that was an issue with my last suit. And their suits all look extra long, which I don't need. AND, any sign of bust support? I know I don't have much, but come on, a little help would be nice.

So far I haven't found a pattern I'm completely in love with, so I've been more interested in solid colors. Boring right?
This one from Anthropologie is cute but waaay out of my price range.
The halter looking straps have always looked pretty good with my shoulders and stuff, and I wouldn't mind finding a cute halter top if it were a secure-looking "banded" one.
Anyway, that's what's been on my mind lately. I know I have a while to figure it out, but hey, just thought I'd share my ideas so far.
Or I could get one of these...hehehe

Yellow one is H-O-T-T
I also like getting solid color pieces so you can mix and match. It's the best.
The halter top kind are the ones that tie around your neck, right? I borrowed my sister's tankini/halter maternity swimming suit once, and I have to say I didn't love it. It was like most halter types I've seen--too low cut. Plus having something tied around my neck was really uncomfortable.
You should definitely go with those in the last link you posted.
Anyway, good luck with the whole thing. I wore my swimming suit when we went to CA last month. I've had it for . . . hm, I think I got it before I got married (8 1/2 years ago), because my friends were with me when I bought it. But, if I got it after being married, it wasn't much after. Either way, it's old. I dislike swimming suit shopping even more than bra shopping.
LOL love the modest swimsuits. I'm totally offended that you're actually thinking of baring your shoulders and thighs! hehe. I love the halter one from anthropologie, but of course way out of my price range too. hmmm...now that I'm not prego I'm totally stoked about summertime!!! You've got me pumped to shop for a suit too! Oh, quick note- If you buy a suit from VS, be sure it's not calvin klein --NO boob support at ALL. barely any lining. Really cute fabric though. The yellow one is my pick after the pricey one.
I think I like the black one the best. The cut of the swim suit is adorable!
I have purchased both Shade and Modbe swimsuits and here's what I know. I like the Shade tops, but I can't stand the bottoms. I like the Modbe tops and bottoms, but they fit big. I should've ordered a size smaller than I usually do. But I didn't know. Now I have a suit that I like, but is a little big. So, I have to be a little careful if you know what I mean. Shade tops are good, though, and I think they might be having a sale on their swimwear right now. . .or maybe it just ended. Anyway, that's what I know.
I would avoid buying a suit online, if you can. I have a VS tankini that I ordered. It's okay, but if I had tried it on first, I probably wouldn't have bought it. Doesn't Shade retail in stores in Utah?
Yeah, but not in Logan. Guess I'll have to actually drive somewhere.
Wow! That last link was sooooo hilarious! I think I lost control of my bladder for a second there.
the black one is my fav
The blue one is my favorite! Get that one!!
ya i love the modbe one. i've actually been wanting that one for a long time. so you should probably buy it! lol. but seriously go somewhere and try the suits on or else you might screw the pooch. :)
Okay... I LOVE the anthropology swimsuit SO much! Too bad it's freaken $178!!! But, hey if you think about it... if you keep about it, it's an investment if you keep it for 4 years. So it is like $44.50 for a bangin suit that you could totally model on America's next top model. DO IT!!! if not, I love the yellow one too, but the anthropology one, is much more unique... think about it.
Okay, I meant $44.50 a year for four years... hahaha
i have the modbe one :)
OK, I have to chime in on this one... I have always thought you had an Audrey Hepburnish quailty/style/face/something about you makes me think of her.... The Black is so Audrey Hepburn
