I went for it today. I'd been thinking about keeping the length and adding layers, and then I saw this:
I think Alison Lohman (she's in Matchstick Men) is adorable (minus the impending wardrobe malfunction) and I looove her hair in this picture. So that's what I wanted.
Well, I know I can't always have perfection, but I almost cried in that chair, and I never do that when I get my hair cut (in every movie-yes). It looked like a reeeally short bob, which made my face look super fat. After she styled it I felt better, but I was still on the verge of tears when I called AJ on my way home. I felt like I looked like...a mom (sorry mom). I think if she had left some longer pieces it would be cuter–it's a pretty blunt cut all away around on the bottom. Well I got home and whined and then messed with it, and after my hair got limper (inevitably) I liked it more. SO. Here's a "before" picture I found:

Dang that's short.
I've still got the mom thing going on, but trust me, it was worse before. And for the record, same shirt, completely different days. I think highlights or something could help add dimension, and I've also been messing with my part...I'll be honest, I'm not sure how things are going to go tomorrow when I try to do it myself.
K, this is where everyone tells me it's not so bad. :D

LOVE IT! I am all about the short hair. I think (and please don't take this the wrong way all of you with long hair..) short hair exudes confidence. I love it. totally not momish (unless you are a "hot mom.. haha..)

So last night I was pretty sick and after I showered this morning I didn't feel too good so I laid down again. When I woke up my hair had dried all wavy and messy, and I'm telling you–it looked kinda cute!
So there's my update. I can work with this.

I think you look great (but you'd probably look great with any do). You look different...not sure if it's a more sophisticated look or what, but it's a good look.
I think your hair looks awesome. I am chopping off all my hair in a few days. I just can't pull off long hair, I look gross, haha. You dont look like a mom!! you can do tons of stuff with short hair. I think you look F-HAB-ULOUS, Dahling. ;)

Has your hair cut changed the way you treat AJ? Do you threaten to ground him or make him stay at the table until he finishes his food? It is always sad when us chickitas go prematurely short haired.
I think it looks cute. I would say you have a lot of courage to get a cut that drastic from a hairdresser that is not tried and true. Props to you. And, for the record, short hair is awesome!
